Review prescriptions, pick, verify & issue items, explain medication to the patients and resolve queries, maintain pharmacy/store, conduct audits

Job Specification:

Skills :

  1. Knowledge of the basic sciences underlying pharmacy, such as chemistry, biology, and physics.
  1. Knowledge of pharmacy, drug, narcotic, and related laws of the state.
  1. Knowledge of the processes involved in the manufacture of pharmaceutical preparations.
  1. Knowledge of stock control and related record keeping.
  1. Ability to communicate effectively with others

 General Responsibilities :

  1. checking prescriptions to ensure that there are no errors and that they are appropriate and safe for the individual patient
  1. providing advice on the dosage of medicines and the most appropriate form of medication, for example, tablet, injection, ointment or inhaler;
  1. ensuring medicines are stored appropriately and securely;
  1. supervising the work of less experienced and less qualified staff;
  1. answering questions about medicines from within the hospital, other hospitals and the general public;
  1. keeping up to date with, and contributing to, research and development;
  1. writing guidelines for drug use within the hospital and implementing hospital regulations;
  1. providing information on expenditure on drugs;
  2. preparing and quality-checking sterile medications, for example, intravenous medications;
  3. Inventories and procures drugs, medications, supplies, etc., as required. Maintains supplies and oversees security of drugs kept at nursing station
