Job Purpose
The R2R Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire General Ledger function, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and managing the end-to-end month-end and year-end closing processes. This role ensures that Narayana Health’s financial statements are accurate, compliant with Ind AS, and delivered within strict corporate timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Closing & Reporting
- Lead and manage the Month-end, Quarter-end, and Year-end closing activities for multiple hospital units.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of Standalone and Consolidated Financial Statements.
- Oversee the General Ledger (GL) maintenance, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
2. Statutory Compliance & Audit
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with Ind AS, Income Tax Act, and other statutory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Statutory Auditors and Internal Auditors to ensure timely completion of audits with zero major observations.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), including capitalization, depreciation, and physical verification (critical for medical equipment).
3. Reconciliations & Intercompany
- Oversee Inter-unit and Inter-company reconciliations (IUC/ICC) to ensure zero mismatch across the group.
- Review Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) and Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Manage complex reconciliations related to TPA (Third Party Administrators) and Insurance settlements.
4. Process Excellence & Automation
- Drive process improvements within the R2R cycle to reduce the "Days to Close."
- Leverage ERP (SAP/Oracle/Tally) to automate manual accounting tasks and enhance data accuracy.
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all R2R activities.
5. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and mentor a team of assistant managers and accountants.
- Collaborate with Unit Finance Heads and Central Treasury/Taxation teams to resolve accounting bottlenecks.
Required Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in Core Accounting/R2R. (Experience in the Healthcare or Pharma sector is a significant advantage).
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of Ind AS, Schedule III of the Companies Act, and GST implications on accounting.
- ERP Expertise: Hands-on experience with a major ERP (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel skills (Power BI or Tableau knowledge is a plus).
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, ability to work under tight deadlines, and excellent communication skills for stakeholder management.
- Specific to Healthcare: Added mention of "Fixed Asset Register for medical equipment" and "TPA/Insurance reconciliations."
- Seniority Level: Focused on "Consolidation" and "Audit Management" rather than just data entry.
