Job Summary:

The Health Care Billing Executive is responsible for managing and overseeing the billing process within a healthcare facility. This role involves preparing and submitting medical claims, verifying insurance information, following up on unpaid claims, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and policies. The executive plays a key role in optimizing revenue cycle management and maintaining clear communication between patients, healthcare providers etc.,

Job Responsibilities:

  • Medical Billing: Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government health programs (Schemes).
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before services are rendered.
  • Claims Follow-up: Monitor and follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving discrepancies and appeals.
  • Patient Billing: Generate patient invoices, explain billing details, and handle patient billing inquiries and disputes.
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Collaborate with other departments to streamline billing processes, improve claim acceptance rates, and reduce billing errors.
  • Compliance: Ensure all billing activities comply with relevant healthcare regulations, coding standards, and company policies.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized billing records and documentation.
  • Reporting: Generate reports related to billing activities, outstanding claims, and revenue status for HOD review.
  • Coordination: Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and patients to facilitate smooth billing operations

Qualifications & Work Environment:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Fresher or 1 year in healthcare billing or medical coding.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with medical billing software and insurance processes.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical: Proficient in billing software and MS Office applications.
  • Typically works in a healthcare setting.
  • May involve sitting for extended periods and working on computers.
  • Collaboration with multiple departments.
