Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments of cancer patients to evaluate emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning.

  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to patients and caregivers throughout the cancer care continuum (diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, palliative care).

  • Develop and implement tailored psychological treatment plans that address distress, anxiety, depression, body image issues, and adjustment difficulties.

  • Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, social workers, and palliative care teams to integrate psychological support into the overall treatment plan.

  • Offer crisis intervention and grief counseling when needed.

  • Participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary rounds, and care planning meetings.

  • Design and deliver psycho-educational programs for patients, families, and staff.

  • Contribute to research, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice in psycho-oncology.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and institutional standards.
