Job Description: Senior Engineer Civil (Client Side)
Role Overview
Position Title: Senior Engineer – Civil Engineering

Job Purpose
To support the hospital project team by providing dedicated on-site monitoring of civil works. This role ensures that all construction activities are executed in strict alignment with approved GFC drawings, hospital-specific design requirements, quality standards, safety protocols, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Monitoring & Execution Support
  • Daily Supervision: Monitor day-to-day civil works including RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, and finishing (Interior/Exterior).
  • Drawing Adherence: Verify that all site works are carried out as per approved GFC drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
  • Reporting: Proactively report any deviations, site delays, or quality concerns to the Project Manager/GM.
2. Quality Assurance (Healthcare Standards)
  • Quality Checks: Conduct routine inspections to ensure hospital-grade workmanship and high-end finishes suitable for healthcare environments.
  • Material Verification: Ensure only approved materials are used and assist in the closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Medical Integration: Support the integration of specialized medical planning requirements into the civil structure.
3. Coordination & Liaison
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a bridge between civil, MEP, and medical equipment teams to resolve on-site clashes.
  • Consultant Support: Assist in addressing site-level issues and follow up on design clarifications from consultants.
4. Safety & Compliance
  • Safety Monitoring: Enforce contractor adherence to site safety practices and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Statutory Support: Assist in ensuring site compliance with local building bylaws, fire safety norms (NBC), and accessibility requirements.
5. Progress Tracking & Documentation
  • Reporting: Prepare and review Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) and track performance against the master schedule.
  • Records Management: Maintain accurate site records, checklists, and photographic documentation for all project phases.
6. Measurement & Billing Assistance
  • Bill Verification: Assist in joint measurements and support the verification of quantities for Running Account (RA) bills submitted by contractors.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized measurement records and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech).
  • Experience: 10–12 years in building construction, with a strong preference for Hospital or Institutional projects.
  • Technical Skills: * Strong knowledge of RCC, finishing, and interior works.
  • Proficiency in reading GFC drawings and understanding IS codes.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, and MS Office.
  • Behavioral Skills: * High attention to detail and quality-conscious mindset.
  • Disciplined site presence and effective coordination abilities.
  • Willingness to take guidance from senior leadership.
