Job Purpose:

Provide consultation to the physician in the selection of the appropriate equipment and techniques to be used during extracorporeal circulation. To conduct extracorporeal circulation and ensure the safe management of physiologic functions by monitoring the necessary variables.

Job Responsibilities:

To Conduct Cardio Pulmonary Bypass(CPB) for all Adult Cardiac Surgeries Independently
To Initiate IABP independently
Closely monitor with the team and understand the heart-lung machine to ensure that machine and associated equipment function according to specifications.
To conduct Neonatal and Pediatric CPB uner supervision of Senior Perfusionist
Cleans and adjusts parts of heart-lung machine.
Circuit Assembly and Priming
To engage all safety systems in the Heart Lung Machine
To assemble and Prime ECMO machine and circuits.
To Manager ECMO cases under supervision of senior Perfusionist
To manage CPB and ECMO disposable inventory.
To document all CPB and ECMO data
To maintain the adequacy of Perfusion, ensure appropriate Blood gas and Hematocrit levels during CPB.
To ensure proper disposal of CPB circuit and Oxygenators after the case completion

Candidate Requirements:

Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, Basic physics , Biochemistry and fluid balance
Knowledge of Oxygenators and disposables used in CPB
Working Knowledge of Heart Lung Machine and other associated equipments used in cardiac surgery
Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the related departmental personnel.
Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instructions given by the supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
Ability to focus and concentrate on the work to ensure error free conduct of CPB
Affinity to work in a team.
