Physician Assistant
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed patient histories, physical exams, and preoperative evaluations to prepare patients for cardiac surgery.

Assist surgeons during cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, heart transplantation, and other complex cardiac surgeries.

Manage postoperative patient care, including monitoring recovery, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, managing pain and complications, and coordinating discharge planning.

Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to the development of individualized patient care plans.

Perform minor procedures and assist with invasive lines and drains as necessary.

Provide patient and family education on disease processes, surgical procedures, and postoperative care.

Document all patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Stay current with advances in cardiac surgery and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical research as applicable.
