Job Purpose:

To supervise and coordinate activities of physical therapy program designed to treat disabled, injured or diseased patients

Job Responsibilities:

1.Clinical Duties

i. To assess the pre-operative patients and provide physiotherapy education including breathing exercises, Incentive spirometry ,coughing technique etc.

ii. To assess the patients in the ITU and provide appropriate Physiotherapy services including chest physiotherapy ,early mobilization, Ambulation & Exercise therapy etc.

iii. To assess the patient in the post-operative ward and provide Physiotherapy Services including Chest physiotherapy, group exercise therapy,etc.

iv. Assess and plan for pain management to patients by use of handling, manual physiotherapy techniques, exercise therapy and Electro-therapy.

v. To participate in the evening, Night and holiday Service, which includes physiotherapy services to sick patient management etc.

vi. To be responsible for the patients care of the allocated patients in the allocated area (ward/ ITU) under the supervision of the unit In-charge.

vii. To prepare the patient for discharge under the supervision of senior and unit In-charge viii. To train patients and family members in patient care.

General

ix. To be professional and ensure high standards of clinical care.

x. Reporting the activities including patient care and the progress to the unit In-charge and the HOD

xi. To be responsible for updating all concerned records in the unit.

xii. To maintain good communication skills with Inter & Intra departments.

xiii. To maintain and improve clinical skills by updating new treatment trends.

xiv. To comply with all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

xv. To comply with policies of patient safety and infection control
