Role Summary
General Medicine Students (Junior Residents) support the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of adult patients under the supervision of senior physicians. The role involves clinical assessment, documentation, coordination of care, participation in academic activities, and adherence to hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct initial patient assessments, history taking, and physical examinations.

Assist consultants in diagnosis, treatment planning, and daily patient management.

Monitor patient progress, vital signs, and laboratory results; report changes promptly.

Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, discharge summaries, and case sheets.

Assist in ward rounds, OPD services, and emergency care as assigned.

Perform basic clinical procedures as per training and supervision.

Coordinate with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and other departments.

Counsel patients and attendants regarding treatment plans and follow-up.

Participate in academic sessions, CMEs, audits, and case presentations.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control practices, and patient safety standards.

Participate in on-call/shift duties as per departmental roster.
Qualifications & Eligibility
-
MBBS degree from a recognized medical college.

Valid registration with State Medical Council / NMC.

Enrollment in or completion of General Medicine training (as applicable to the role).

Proficiency in medical documentation and EMR systems (preferred).

Work Environment

Hospital wards, OPD, ICU/HDUs (as assigned), and emergency services.
