Position Overview:
A Senior House Officer (SHO) is a medical doctor in the early years of postgraduate training, typically following the completion of medical school. This role is prevalent in countries like the UK, Ireland, and India, and serves as a crucial step toward specialization and consultant positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and the development of management plans.

  • Clinical Procedures: Perform medical procedures within their defined competence under supervision, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical guidelines.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, contributing to patient care discussions and decision-making processes.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including case notes, discharge summaries, and operation notes, ensuring compliance with legal and institutional standards.
