Key Roles & Responsibilities
Clinical & Diagnostic Support
Assist in gross examination and processing of surgical pathology and biopsy specimens.
Perform initial slide screening for histopathology, cytology, FNAC, and pap smears under supervision.
Assist in frozen section reporting and IHC preparation/interpretation with guidance from senior consultants.
Independent reporting of Gynaec cytology (PAP smear)
Ensure proper documentation and sample tracking.
Quality & Compliance
Follow departmental SOPs and ensure compliance with NABL, CAP, NABH, and JCI standards.
Maintain accuracy in labeling, reporting drafts, and documentation.
Support quality control measures in sample handling and reporting.
Academic & Learning
Participate actively in teaching programs, journal clubs, case discussions, and academic meetings.
Contribute to departmental audits, research projects, and publications under guidance.
Attend CMEs, workshops, and conferences to enhance professional knowledge.
Collaboration & Teamwork
Work closely with consultants, technical staff, and clinicians to ensure smooth workflow.
Provide diagnostic assistance in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical meetings when assigned.
Patient Safety & Ethics
Ensure strict confidentiality of patient data and diagnostic findings.
Maintain professionalism and ethical standards in all patient-related activities.
