Senior Registrar

Job Summary:

The Senior Registrar/ Junior Consultant/ Associate Consultant/ Consultant for the Pediatric Intensive Therapy Unit (PITU) or Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients, with all complex Congenital cardiac conditions. This role involves diagnostic evaluations, formulating treatment plans, assisting in advanced procedures, and closely monitoring patient progress under the supervision of Consultants. And will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to family communication, and participate in educational and research initiatives.

Cognitive Clinical Management  

1. Perform and document history & physical examination.

2. Formulate differential diagnosis.

3. Develops and documents initial plan of care.

4. Modifies daily plan of care.

5. Writes daily progress notes.

6. Obtain and document informed Consent.

7. Order appropriate referrals.

8. Order appropriate investigations.

9. Interpret hemodynamic parameters in critically ill patients.

10.Interpret laboratory & radiology results.

11.Orders transfusions of blood and blood products.

12.Order appropriate medication and other orders.

13.Prepare an appropriate discharge summary.

14. Patient counseling and documentation.

Clinical Non-invasive Management

1. Performs cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

2. Orders, adjusts artificial feeding modalities.

Clinical Invasive Management

1. Inserts central venous catheter.

2. Insert arterial line catheters.

3. Performs endotracheal intubation.

4. Performs nasogastric / Orogastic tube insertion.

5. Inserts urethral catheter.
