Job Title: Senior Registrar – Anaesthesiology

Job Summary
The Senior Registrar in Anaesthesiology is responsible for providing safe and effective anaesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. The role involves preoperative assessment, intraoperative anaesthesia management, postoperative care, critical care support, pain management, and active participation in academic and departmental activities under the guidance of consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-anaesthetic evaluation and optimize patients for surgery.
- Develop and implement appropriate anaesthesia plans based on patient condition and surgical requirements.
- Administer general, regional, and local anaesthesia safely and effectively.
- Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and manage any anaesthetic complications.
- Provide postoperative recovery care and pain management.
- Participate in emergency anaesthesia services, trauma management, and resuscitation.
- Assist in intensive care unit (ICU) management, including airway management and ventilator care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medical records.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols.
- Supervise and mentor junior residents, interns, and medical students.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and continuing medical education (CME) programs.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals.
