  •  Shift Incharge - Nursing is responsible for supervising and coordinating nursing staff and patient care activities during their assigned shift. This role ensures high-quality patient care, adherence to protocols, and efficient management of resources while providing leadership and guidance to the nursing team.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee and manage all nursing activities during the assigned shift.
  • Ensure effective patient care delivery in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
  • Allocate duties and responsibilities to nursing staff based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
  • Patient Care:
  • Ensure patient safety and quality care through regular rounds and monitoring.
  • Address and resolve patient concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to ensure timely assessments, interventions, and treatment plans.
  • Staff Supervision and Leadership:
  • Supervise, guide, and support nursing staff during the shift.
  • Conduct shift handovers effectively, ensuring accurate communication of patient status and operational concerns.
  • Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff as needed.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection control measures, and nursing best practices.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Resource Management:
  • Manage inventory and ensure the availability of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Report and document any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
  • Optimize staff utilization and ensure adequate staffing levels for patient care.
  • Emergency Response:
  • Coordinate and manage nursing response during medical emergencies.
  • Ensure preparedness for emergencies and adherence to emergency protocols.
  • Communication and Coordination:
  • Serve as the point of contact between nursing staff and hospital administration during the shift.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Escalate critical issues to senior management as necessary.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
  • Valid nursing license/registration with the appropriate state nursing council.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage stress and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using hospital information systems and medical documentation.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
