- Shift Incharge - Nursing is responsible for supervising and coordinating nursing staff and patient care activities during their assigned shift. This role ensures high-quality patient care, adherence to protocols, and efficient management of resources while providing leadership and guidance to the nursing team.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee and manage all nursing activities during the assigned shift.
- Ensure effective patient care delivery in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities to nursing staff based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
- Patient Care:
- Ensure patient safety and quality care through regular rounds and monitoring.
- Address and resolve patient concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure timely assessments, interventions, and treatment plans.
- Staff Supervision and Leadership:
- Supervise, guide, and support nursing staff during the shift.
- Conduct shift handovers effectively, ensuring accurate communication of patient status and operational concerns.
- Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff as needed.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection control measures, and nursing best practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely documentation.
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
- Resource Management:
- Manage inventory and ensure the availability of medical supplies and equipment.
- Report and document any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
- Optimize staff utilization and ensure adequate staffing levels for patient care.
- Emergency Response:
- Coordinate and manage nursing response during medical emergencies.
- Ensure preparedness for emergencies and adherence to emergency protocols.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Serve as the point of contact between nursing staff and hospital administration during the shift.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Escalate critical issues to senior management as necessary.
- Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
- Valid nursing license/registration with the appropriate state nursing council.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage stress and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems and medical documentation.
- Working Conditions:
