Technical Lead
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation: Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of scalable and secure network systems to meet organizational needs. Oversee network architecture planning, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Network Monitoring and Optimization: Proactively monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues. Optimize network performance through effective tuning, configuration changes, and preventative measures.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and administrators. Provide technical guidance and support, ensuring the team follows best practices and adheres to security protocols.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Act as the primary point of escalation for complex network-related issues. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that the network infrastructure is secure and compliant with industry standards. Implement firewalls, encryption protocols, and other security measures to protect data and network resources.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, topology diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures. Provide regular reports on network performance and incident resolution to senior management.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with external vendors and partners to evaluate new technologies, and implement network upgrades. Manage relationships with service providers to ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Network Troubleshooting and Disaster Recovery: Participate in disaster recovery planning, implement network redundancy and fault tolerance, and lead incident management during network outages.
- Project Management: Lead or participate in network-related projects, from planning and design to implementation and evaluation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Any Bachelor’s degree, Network Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable.
- Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in network engineering
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in routing and switching technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba).
- Strong understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network security tools.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Site24x7, SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills. Ability to manage and inspire a technical team while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to quickly assess network problems and implement solutions effectively.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Python, or other scripting languages).
- Familiarity with ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with standard office hours; availability for On-Call support during non-business hours as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required for onsite installations or troubleshooting.
