Job Purpose:

Involved in formulating & modifying infection control polices. To ensure the best infection control polices and  

protocols are in place.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

           Infection Control

. Conduct regular rounds in all the areas of the hospital.

. Responsible for the surveillance of hospital-acquired infection (HAI).

. Identifying, reporting, analysing, investigating, and controlling hospital-acquired infection.

. Coordinates with the department such as CSSD, Maintenance and engineering, Housekeeping, Dietary, etc. Regarding infection control matters.

. Monitors waste management and disposal.

. Visits the laundary at least once a month to conduct an audit.

. Visits waste management plant at least a year and conducts an audit.

            Training

Organizes training for all the categories of health care workers regarding infection control practices.

                Data Management

                      Prepares the monthly analysis reports of the infection data collected.

Microbiologist

. Hand hygiene audit among various categories of staff on monthly basis.

. Biomedical waste management: Training, audit in hospital/BMW storage area/ Common

. HIC surveilliance: hospital air /water/surface/nasal swab/hand swab/disinfectants etc.

. Hospital infection control meeting: Quarterly or SOS

. Antibiotic Stewardship: Anatibiotic assessment and antibiotic compliance review

. Focussing on sharp managemnet and Folow up of all Needle stick inhury cases

. Vaccination of staff: Injection TT, Hepatitis B/ Influenza etc.

. Adherence to Isolation policy

. Traing ongoing/ induction; CME etc.

. Celebration of World hand hygiene day; Antibiotic Awareness week etc.

. Monthly audit of OT, CSS, Mortuary, Housekeeping, Food and beverage etc.

. Audit of construction sites

. Surveillance of high-risk procedures.

. Associate with Projects on HIC, publications etc

. BMW treatment Facility

. Reporting of Microbiology, Serology, Molecular tests.

. Provide Advisory services in Microbiology, Serology, Molecular testing and Infection Control services of hospital.

. Authorised to approve, review and amend reports in Microbiology, Serology & Molecular departments.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to comprehend writen instruction given by the Doctors and the other related departmental personnel.
  • Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
  • Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instruction given by the supervisors and other related deaprtment personnel.
