Junior Resident
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Care

Provide 24-hour medical cover, emergency care, and routine medical services to all inpatients and outpatients as required.

Assess, diagnose, and manage patients admitted under various specialties.

Monitor and record the progress of patients, making treatment adjustments as necessary.

Respond promptly to all medical emergencies (e.g., cardiac arrest, trauma, anaphylaxis).
-
Ensure continuity of care by updating consultants and nursing staff on patient status.
2. Clinical Documentation

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and discharge summaries.

Document all treatments, procedures, and observations in accordance with hospital policies.
-
Ensure consent forms are properly completed before procedures.
3. Coordination & Communication

Liaise with consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Attend and participate in ward rounds and clinical meetings.
-
Communicate effectively with patients and their families about treatment plans and progress.
4. Compliance & Quality Assurance
-
Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control guidelines, and clinical safety standards.
-
Participate in audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and continuous medical education (CME).
-
Report incidents, adverse events, or near misses promptly to the appropriate authority.
5. Administrative Duties
-
Assist in the admission and discharge process, including completion of relevant documentation.
-
Supervise and mentor junior doctors, interns, and medical students as required.
-
Contribute to policy development and implementation related to patient care.
