Job Purpose:

Overall supervision of Medical Gas Unit, General Maintenance work like Painting , Plumbing, Electrical, A.C. and R.O. water plant, To provide maintenance necessary for care of Hospital facilities. To create a pleasant and comfortable physical environment for patients and employees. Ensures uninterrupted functioning of the Hospital by maintaining all the equipment and machinery in proper condition

Job Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the services pertaining to General Maintenance, Electrical, Gas Plant , A.C. and R.O. water plant
  • To advice the Administrators and HODs on the matter pertaining to repairs and utilities.
  • To establish technical procedures and management functions pertaining to repairs and utilities.
  • To provide technical advice and assistance concerning improvements of the hospital plant including landscaping, construction and repairs
  • To coordinate matters related to major construction
  • Ensures continuous availability of equipment and accessories for smooth functioning of the Hospital
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the equipment as per AMC schedule
  • Ensure proper handling of equipment
  • Determines the orders in which repairs and new installation will be made
  • Inspects equipment periodically to ensure safety regulations are met and efficient operation maintained.
  • Requisition of replacement parts, supplies and equipment
  • Assist in purchase of related equipment and accessories
  • Indent of departmental consumables
  • Ensure proper stock of spare parts is maintained
  • Check complaint book to ensure job is completed in time
  • Coordinate with higher authority for work approval if required
  • Handling of major breakdowns
  • Supervise the work of technician
  • Ensure all the requirements are met as per the regulatory bodies
  • Ensure staff security and make them aware about the fire safety measures
  1. Administrative Functions
  • Maintains temperature, and directs operation of A/C and other machines
  • Maintains operation log and fuel consumed
  • Trains and instruct employees
  • Produce documents for auditing
  • Maintain discipline and punctuality of departmental staff
  • Proper coordination within the department and interdepartmental
  • Attend any related meetings
  • Ensure proper handover takeover of work when shift changes

  • Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the related departmental personnel.
  • Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
  • Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instructions given by the supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
