Key Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, and process patient samples as per standard procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Prepare reagents, samples, and laboratory materials as required.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of biological samples and laboratory waste.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, samples, and laboratory activities.
- Follow all laboratory SOPs, quality control procedures, and safety protocols.
- Perform daily equipment checks and ensure timely calibration and maintenance.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding sample collection and reports.
- Ensure timely processing and reporting of investigations.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the laboratory.
- Adhere to infection-control practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Report any discrepancies, equipment issues, or abnormal findings to the concerned supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in a hospital, diagnostic centre, or clinical laboratory is preferred.
- Good knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
- Basic computer skills and good documentation ability.
