Clinical Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ nutritional status through medical history, dietary intake, anthropometric data, and lab reports

  • Develop individualized diet plans based on medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, renal disease, cardiac conditions, cancer, GI disorders)

  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress and modify diet plans as required

  • Provide nutrition counseling to patients and caregivers

  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team discussions

  • Document nutrition care plans and patient progress in medical records

Food Service & Quality Control

  • Plan and supervise therapeutic diets prepared by the hospital kitchen

  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and quality standards are followed

  • Monitor meal distribution to ensure accuracy of prescribed diets

  • Conduct regular kitchen inspections and audits
