Medical Officer

Clinical Duties

  • Conduct patient consultations, physical examinations, and medical assessments.

  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.

  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (laboratory and imaging).

  • Develop and implement patient management plans.

  • Perform minor medical and emergency procedures as required.

2. Patient Care & Management

  • Ensure high standards of patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality.

  • Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

  • Provide counseling, education, and support to patients and their families.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records.

3. Emergency & Critical Care

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies.

  • Stabilize patients and coordinate referrals to specialists when necessary.

  • Participate in on-call duties or rotation schedules.

4. Coordination & Collaboration

  • Work closely with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings.

  • Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare services when appropriate.

5. Administrative Duties

  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

  • Assist in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical governance activities.

  • Contribute to training and supervision of junior staff or interns, if applicable.

6. Professional Development

  • Maintain licensure and stay updated with current medical practices and guidelines.

  • Participate in continuing medical education (CME) programs and professional training.
