Medical Officer

Clinical Duties

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients in OPD, IPD, and Emergency as assigned

• Provide first-line medical management and stabilize emergency cases

• Take detailed patient history and perform physical examinations

• Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with standard guidelines

• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment as required

• Perform basic medical procedures and assist consultants during procedures

Patient Care & Safety

• Ensure accurate documentation of patient records, progress notes, and discharge summaries

• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care

• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and quality standards

• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code calls

Coordination & Teamwork

• Coordinate with consultants, nurses, technicians, and support staff

• Refer patients to specialists when necessary

• Participate in clinical rounds and case discussions

Administrative & Legal Responsibilities

• Maintain medico-legal case (MLC) documentation as per hospital and statutory norms

• Comply with NABH / hospital accreditation standards

• Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and ethical guidelines
