- Patient Care: Examine patients, diagnose illnesses, and prescribe treatments or medications. Manage both outpatient and inpatient cases.
- Emergency Handling: Provide immediate care in emergencies, stabilize patients, and decide on referrals if specialized care is needed.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform minor procedures (suturing, wound care, basic life support, etc.) and assist in major ones when required.
- Ward Management: Monitor admitted patients, maintain case records, and ensure treatment plans are followed.
- Coordination: Work with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to deliver comprehensive care.
- Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, reports, discharge summaries, and medico-legal documentation.
- Public Health Duties: Participate in vaccination drives, health camps, and preventive healthcare programs.
- Compliance & Ethics: Follow hospital protocols, legal regulations, and ethical standards of medical practice.
