Patient Care
- Receive and assess patients as per nursing protocols.
- Monitor and record vital signs, clinical condition, intake-output, and other relevant parameters.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care according to the patient's condition and treatment plan.
- Administer medications safely as prescribed by the treating physician.
- Perform procedures within the scope of training, competence, and hospital authorization.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and emergency interventions.
- Identify changes in the patient's condition and promptly report them to the concerned doctor and nursing in-charge.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care where applicable.
- Maintain patient comfort, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Provide appropriate care for critically ill, dependent, elderly, and vulnerable patients.
B. Medication Management
- Verify medication orders before administration.
- Follow the principles of safe medication administration.
- Check medication name, dose, route, timing, patient identity, allergies, and expiry before administration.
- Document medication administration accurately.
- Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions and report them promptly.
- Maintain controlled/high-alert medications as per hospital policy.
C. Documentation & Records
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing records.
- Document assessments, nursing interventions, medication administration, patient response, and care provided.
- Ensure proper maintenance of patient case sheets and nursing documentation.
- Maintain handover records and communicate relevant clinical information during shift changes.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information.
