Staff Nurse

Job Purpose

To provide safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients in accordance with established hospital policies, nursing standards, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety guidelines.

2. Key Responsibilities and Duties

A. Patient Care and Nursing Responsibilities

1. Assess patients' physical, psychological, and emotional needs.

2. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.

3. Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by the treating physician.

4. Assist doctors during clinical examinations, procedures, and emergency interventions.

5. Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.

6. Maintain accurate nursing assessment, care plans, progress notes, and patient records.

7. Identify and promptly report any deterioration in the patient's condition to the treating doctor and nursing supervisor.

8. Ensure proper patient identification before medication administration, procedures, and sample collection.

9. Provide personal hygiene, comfort, nutrition, and mobility assistance to patients.

10. Educate patients and their attendants regarding treatment, medication, and discharge instructions.
