• Perform pre-anaesthetic evaluation (PAC) including history, physical examination, airway assessment, and risk stratification.
• Review laboratory investigations, imaging, and medical records relevant to anaesthesia planning.
• Obtain informed anaesthesia consent as per hospital policy under supervision.
• Prepare anaesthesia plans appropriate to the patient’s condition and surgical procedure.
• Ensure patient optimization and communicate with surgeons and other specialties when required.

B. Intraoperative Responsibilities

• Prepare and check the anaesthesia workstation, monitors, breathing circuits, airway equipment, and emergency drugs before induction.
• Assist in and progressively perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anaesthesia under supervision.
• Administer general, regional, spinal, epidural, and monitored anaesthesia care as permitted by training level and institutional policy.
• Continuously monitor ECG, blood pressure, SpO2, EtCO2, temperature, urine output, and other indicated parameters.
• Maintain accurate anaesthesia records and intraoperative documentation.
• Recognize and manage anaesthetic emergencies, difficult airway situations, anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest, and perioperative complications under consultant supervision.
• Participate in emergency, trauma, obstetric, pediatric, neurosurgical, cardiac, and other specialty OT cases according to the training schedule.

C. Postoperative Responsibilities

• Transfer patients safely to the Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or ICU with proper handover.
• Assess postoperative recovery, pain, airway, ventilation, and hemodynamic status.
• Initiate and monitor postoperative pain management plans.
• Recognize and manage immediate postoperative complications under supervision.
