Nursing Assistant

Job Responsibility

Patient Care & Assistance:-

1. To assist the staff nurse in care of patients which includes sponge bath, mouth care, back care combing, feeding, assisting for dressing, assisting for mobilization of patients.
2. Shifting of patients from one unit to another for investigation like X-ray, 2d-echo, USG, CT, EEG.
3. Assist patients with mobility, turning, repositioning, and using mobility aids.
4. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and oxygen levels.
5. Observe patients' conditions and report any changes to the nursing team.
6. Assist in wound care, bandaging, and post-surgical dressing changes under supervision.

Medical & Procedural Support:-

1. Assist in preparing patients for medical procedures and surgeries.
2. Support IV line management, catheter care, and administering oxygen therapy under supervision.
3. Assist in collecting blood, urine, and other samples for lab tests.
4. Prepare and maintain medical equipment and sterile instruments.
5. Assist in emergency response, including CPR and first aid when required.

Documentation & Communication:-

1. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
2. Educate patients and families about basic care routines and post-hospital care instructions.

Hospital Safety & Infection Control:-

1. Follow infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and equipment sterilization.
2. Dispose of medical waste according to hospital guidelines.
3. Adhere to hospital safety regulations to prevent falls, infections, and other risks.
4. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Training & Development:-

1. Attend CNE and orientation program, and hands-on training sessions.

2. Continuously develop clinical skills and knowledge.
