Senior Staff Nurse
- Admission and discharge of the patients
- Provide with intravenous therapies, food feedings and monitors the baby.
- Make the baby feel comfortable.
- Provide full detailed knowledge about the baby to mother.
- Ensure every activity performed on ill infant is purely hygienic.
- Works in shifts with other staff and wears all the gear that is needed.
- Ensures the functioning of all devices is good.
- Produce all the reports of ill infant to doctor which help him/her to monitor the baby condition.
- Responsible for all documentation as per policy and all forms which are necessary for the patient
- The nurses have to keep checking on the patients constantly during their duty as all the patients are in critical condition
- Care of the dying and dead
- Maintenance of therapeutic environment in the ward
- BLS and PALS / NALS trained.
- The duties required of a pediatric nurse in ICU include treating and educating patients about medical conditions and treatments, establishing care plans specialized for each patient, observing patients on a regular basis, and consulting with physicians and other health care professionals regarding each patient's condition.
- They are responsible for administering medication, starting and maintaining intravenous fluids, and checking to make sure doses are correct for each patient's medical needs.
- Pediatric nurses in ICU deliver immunizations, perform in-depth physical assessments, order medications, perform therapeutic treatments, conduct routine developmental screenings, and care for children who are acutely, chronically, and critically ill.
- To complete any other work assigned/ required from time to time basis.
