  • Registrars will have day to day responsibilities for patients under the care of their consultants and will be responsible to their consultants in all clinical matters. 
  • They will be involved in the ward care of patients, in seeing inpatient referrals in the hospitals where they work and in completing relevant notes and correspondence.  In addition they will have supervised outpatient responsibilities, involving seeing new and follow up patients.
  • The Registrar will perform additional duties on occasions of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
  • The Registrar will have to be available for irregular commitments outside normally rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care.
  • Provide safe and high quality person‐centred care for patients under your care
  • Ensure coordination of care for patients in your unit.
  • Ensure timely and clear clinical communication including clinical handover with regards to patients under your care.
  • Ensure timely escalation of care related issues to your consultant when required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the Doctors and the other related departmental personnel.
  • Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
  • Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instructions given by the supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
