Technician
- Completes lead placement, calibration and operation of a Holter Monitor.
- Completes electrocardiograph readings on patients as requested by various departments within the hospital.
- Prepares and processes paperwork for electrocardiograph readings for physician’s review.
- Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment and restocks supplies.
- Maintains accurate logs of patient information regarding electrocardiograph readings; Holter requests; Cardiac studies; and assists in maintaining filing cards and patient folders.
- Maintains detailed log of all patients for echocardiography, especially those patients for fetal echocardiography. For fetal echo, the paperwork to be done by the cardiology techinican includes the log-book, ensuring the filling and signing of Form F, uploading of form F details on government PCPNDT website, giving monthly summary of fetal echo procedures to the hospital PCPNDT coordinator.
- Prepares and processes billing paperwork.
- Gives appointments for cardiology non-invasive procedures after discussing with the concerned cardiologist.
- Operates sophisticated computerized data acquisition equipment used in obtaining electrocardiograms of patients undergoing various stress procedures.
- Assists the stress test proctor in monitoring patients throughout the course of the procedure.
- Participates in training other Cardiac Technician positions in special procedures.
- Performs medical procedures involving a treadmill/bicycle exercise tolerance tests, Thallium, Muga, and oxygen consumption stress tests.
Typing all reports of echocardiograms, fetal echocardiograms, ECG, Holter, stress test and holter tests. From time to time, the cardiac technician is also expected to type other cardiology related reports after coordinating and discussing with the concerned cardiologist.
