Job Purpose:

To prevent, diagnose and control infections as they identify and characterise organisms. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform and document microbiological testing
  • Formulate differential diagnosis
  • Interpret microbiology results*
  • Guide antimicrobial therapy*
  • Participate in infection control meetings
  • Ensure cleanliness of work area
  • Guide junior colleagues & technicians working in the area
  • Ensure compliance with infection control guidelines
  • Participate in quality assurance of the department and the hospital.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the Doctors and the other related departmental personnel.
  • Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
  • Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instructions given by the supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
  • Affinity to work in team.
  • Enthusiasm.
