Key Responsibilities –
- Objective:
Manager on Duty will represent the management during the night and on all holidays. MOD provides the leadership and support to all members and enforces the Hospital standards of Excellence in all areas supervised.
- Eligibility: Assistant Manager and above.
- Responsibilities:
- MOD is responsible for operations during the night and on all holidays including Sundays.
- To ensure safety of the premises, safety of employees and welfare of all inpatients and patients coming in the emergency during night and on all holidays.
- To take patient area round with nursing, housekeeping and security supervisor.
- To ensure that all associates on duty (as per roaster) are present in the premises.

- To handle trivial issues himself/herself. MOD will coordinate with different departments for sorting issues on need basis.
- To coordinate with respective HoD in case of any patient issue.
- To coordinate with billing, security, nursing and medical team in case of any discharge or death.
- Calls pertaining to patient and operational issues will be diverted to MOD mobile number during the duty.
- Important issues will be escalated to the FD/RD on need basis.
- To ensure cleanliness of the hospital.
- To see that lighting of hospital is shut down in all the non-working areas and these areas are adequately locked.
- MOD will carry the MOD mobile and will not leave the premises while on duty.
- MOD will send the MOD Report to all MODs with copy to FD and RD.
- Female employee will have day duties on all holidays and Sundays.
- Post duty, MOD to handover the Duty Mobile to Call Center / MOD, as the case maybe.
- Refer the specific duty details in Annexure 1.
Coordinates with administrators in case of non-availability of bed. Ensures exchange of information through over – book. (Mentioning empty beds, planned discharges, planned OT, any specific room booking)
- Reports to management about any unfavorable incidence
- Ensures proper working by all staff and ensuring that they don’t leave the premises.
- Identifies problem areas in all on duty department, such as understaffing, absenteeism, and wastefulness, and takes corrective action.
- Monitors use of supplies and equipment to avoid abuses and requisitions supplies.
- Responds to various departments requesting emergency assistance and assigns staff accordingly during emergencies.
- Confirms all the planned discharges for the coming morning and assures billing and speedy discharge preparation.
- Solves patient / relatives queries abiding to hospital rules and regulations
- Reports to management about any unfavorable incidence
- Ensures correct Bed Occupancy Report in liaison with floors and IPD department.
- Ensures all the medical management during MLC handling at ER is carried out smoothly
- Ensures highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and discipline (self as well as staff).
