  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
    Continuously assess the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of cancer patients, monitoring vital signs and overall health status. 
     
  • Treatment Administration:
    Safely prepare and administer various cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other specialized therapies, while adhering to strict protocols for drug handling. 
     
  • Symptom and Side Effect Management:
    Manage common side effects of cancer treatments, such as nausea, pain, fatigue, and potential complications, to ensure patient comfort. 
     
  • Patient and Family Education:
    Educate patients and their families about the cancer diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, self-care strategies, and available resources. 
     
  • Coordination of Care:
    Collaborate with physicians, oncologists, specialists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive, individualized patient care plans. 
     
  • Emotional and Psychosocial Support:
    Provide essential emotional support, psychological care, and companionship to patients and their families, helping them cope with the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. 
     
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
    Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documentation of health history, treatment progress, and care plans. 
     
  • Advocacy:
    Advocate for patient needs and concerns within the healthcare system, ensuring their preferences and rights are respected. 
     
  • Research and Quality Improvement:
    Participate in clinical trials, research, and quality improvement initiatives to stay current with oncology nursing practices and contribute to advancements in cancer care.
