X-Ray:

  • To receive patient with courtesy and compassion.
  • To give appointment for conventional radio-logical procedures.
  • To give clear-cut instruction which are pre-requisite for carrying out the procedure (empty / Full stomach, Empty / Full bladder, Purgative/nor purgative) and the cost of the procedure.
  • To give clear cut instruction to patients who require contrast (Oral/rectal/IV) so that they are physically and mentally prepared.
  • To enter all the required details in X-Ray register with receipt of the deposited amount.
  • Standing behind the lead screen for radiation safety .If a relative has to be present,make sure that they use a lead apron for radiation safety.
  • To get CD/film checked by consultant while patient is still in the department to ensure that quality is maintained and if any further CD/film are required they can be done.
  • To store the used fixer in a separate container and marked “Hazardous Waste”.
  • Collecting all waste CD/films for disposal to waste contractor.
  • To perform emergency radiography after working hours and portable X=-Ray in wards/OT on a rotation schedule.

 

ULTRASOUND:

 

  • To assist consultant for FNAC & biopsies.
  • To get CD/film checked by consultant while patient is still in the department to ensure that quality is maintained and if any further CD/film are required they can be done.

CT SCAN

 

  • To fix appointment and give clear instruction regarding need for fasting. If Yes for how many hours.
  • To receive the imaging requisition forms for CT with receipt of deposited amount & confirm whether pre CT requirement are met with including previous CD/films/studies.
  • To prepare the patient requiring oral/rectal/IV contrast depending on the area to be scanned.
  • To give oral contracts to drink for CT abdomen.
  • To administer rectal contrast (If required).
  • If a relative has to be present, making sure they wear lead aprons.
  • To perform CT scan with standard technique in the presence of the Radiologist.
  • To obtain patients CD’s for the study.
  • To develop hard copies.
  • To perform Non-Contrast emergency CT scan.
  • To perform emergency CT scan with contrast in the presence of the Radiologist.
