Technician

1.  Responsible for collect all items, drugs from OT stores after making list of needed articles daily.
2. Responsible for providing reports to OT Supervisor/OT manager for any defect detected in any equipment early in the morning after checking the equipment's.
3. Responsible for assist Anesthetist in preparing drugs for anesthesia as per OT protocols and assist Anesthetist during intubations, maintenance of anesthesia and in extubation at the time of reversal of anesthesia.
4.  Responsible for receiving patients from preoperative room to OT table along with staff nurse and will ensure that patient preparation for anesthesia and surgery has already been done properly.
5. Responsible for helping Surgeon during surgery in various other running duties as fixing of light, setting of cautery, making required position of patients, dressing the wound and fixing the drain etc.
6. Helping in shifting the patients from OT table to recovery room/HDU/ICU.
7. Responsible for follow the NABH standard while doing his duties, while disposal of waste, maintaining OT documents and also follow quality control plan in each field such as OT, CSSD and of Anesthesia.
8. Responsible for doing autoclave in emergency and follow strict antiseptic technique while doing his duties in OT.
9. Responsible for helping and supervise the washing of OT on every Saturday and after any dirty or infective surgery. He/She will open close circuit, soda lime jar and rebreathing bag and clean these by submerging and washing in plain water and send these to CSSD for ETO sterilization.
10. Responsible for fumigating the OT and seal the OT for overnight.
11. Responsible for collect specimen for air cultural in OT and send to Laboratory on Sunday morning / as per requirement.
12. Responsible for open accessories of Anesthesia machine and will change soda lime every week.
13. Responsible for taking swab culture of OT from the device / equipment as per surveillance protocol and will observe strict protocol while doing his duties in case of infectious patients surgery eg. HBSAG, HIV positive cases.
14. Responsible for helping in endoscopy procedure in OT and will ensure that endoscope is safely handed over to endoscopy technician for further cleaning and maintenance.

All other work assigned by management / HOD time to time.
