Job Purpose:

To determine goals, aims, objectives and policies of the Nursing Services, recruit nurses, maintain the discipline and rosters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the unit functions are implemented, monitored well in order to streamline the operations and administration of services for better operational efficiencies resulting in better business performances, cost, and service line.  
  • To ensure overall performance of the unit in terms of customer services, Clinical Services resulting in customer satisfaction, growth of unit, attaining the desired key performance indicators 
  • Implementation of Group Policies resulting in better Performance indicators, ensuring compliance & review
  • Forecasting the requirements of the unit in view of the performance, expansions, business strategies
  • Ensure all the quality protocols related to customer services, clinical services, Biomedical maintenance, are in compliance Initiating, implementing all legal, statutory, licensing, financial compliances that have been laid out by Govt authorities and as required by Organizational Policies.
  • Ability to inspire self and others towards establishing & achieving group goals by providing a clear vision, positive attitude towards work & fostering a healthy team spirit.

Patient Care & Unit Management:

 

  • Staff Mentoring, Clinical Supervision, Teaching (all staff levels), Research Activities, Learning Activities.
  • Check whether assessment data of patients is supported by evidence to provide nursing care based on identified patient needs.
  • Ensure nursing care provided is based on established standards of patient care collaborated with patient's physician, family and significant others.
  • Supervise the evaluation of patient's response to nursing care and examine the patient care history records for the proper documentation of nursing interventions, medication, treatment etc.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the policies and procedures with respect to nursing care in a timely and satisfactory manner with effective utilization of resources.
  • Complies with hospital attendance and leave policies and ensures effective leave management of reported by calculated forecasting.
  • Monitors work habits that comply with safety requirements in the department (medical and non-medical compliance) and reduce the risk of health care acquired infections.
  • Conveys the right information and influence others towards desired action and is perceived as responsive, caring and empathetic.
  • Takes appropriate action or suggests changes even in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability and interest in developing and putting into practice innovative and beneficial ideas to improve the quality of patient care.
  • Strive on providing best patient care services resulting in improvement of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and acquire technology or professional competency by involving in research activities and ensure the mentoring of staff on an ongoing basis.

  • Complying & submitting nursing statistics & reports to Head of the Department.

 

Educational Function

 

  • Supervising the Managers, Assistant Managers & Deputy Manager in arranging the In-service classes & clinical teaching for the newly joined staff, existing staff & students in the department.
  • Nursing audit for the entire nursing standard applicable to their unit at least once in a week.
  • Senior Nursing Manager is accountable for smooth functioning of Inpatient services of all the critical care areas and wards.

Candidate Requirements:

Verbal Ability/Communication Skill: Ability to comprehend verbal instructions given by the supervisor or head of the department.

To give accurate and tactful explanations to patients. Problem solving/ Decision-making
