Job Purpose:

Responsible for the delivery of the highest possible standards of patient centered care during Family Medicine treatment. Provide routine and emergency diagnostic and therapeutic care to all adult patients. Ensure compliance with nationally & internationally accepted standards of practice by Family Medicine service, initiate and implement clinical audit programs to monitor such care and standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Provides medicine care according to assigned patients to current best-evidence based standards, using best judgment at all times and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients/families in an effort to promote compliance and shared participation in a caring environment.
  • Carries out other clinical duties as assigned by the Medical Superitendent and in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.
  • Review patient chart and maintain record for allergies, medical problems, medications and immunization status.
  • Participates in review and planning activities relevant to family medicine services and the hospital.
  • Participates in activities and opportunities to promote the family medicine services and the hospital to the general public and wider medical community.
  • Fulfills professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence in all aspects of family medicine.
  • Carries out other assigned duties within the appropriate scope of knowledge, skills and abilities of the position.
  • The post holder is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical consultant level patient care in family medicine.  This responsibility may be shared with other specialists/consultants in family medicine in the hospital.
  • Refer patient to medical specialist for consultant services if needed for better treatment..
