Job Purpose:
To carry out value analysis, purchasing research activities, and vendor management, Manpower management to monitor purchase activities, liaising and follow-up with government agencies for various licenses/permits etc. Maintaining the quality as per JCI/NABH
Job Responsibilities:
• Provides strategic direction for materials and supply chain distribution functions for Narayana Health in the areas on inventory management, quality assurance and value improvement.
• Oversee and execute Materials Planning, procurement and inventory management for Drugs, Medical Consumable, General Consumable, printing and Stationery, Capex medical equipment & instruments, Housekeeping, linen, office and computer.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the inventory management operations.
• Serves as an operational and technical resource to materials management in the communication and resolution of related issues; negotiates successful resolutions and provides education about materials management.
• Plans, coordinates and administers the operational, financial, administrative and technical operations of material management.
• Inventory management of consignment items used in the hospital.
• Implementing CBU (Central buying units) protocols and ensuring strict adherence to CBU policies.
• Take leadership role in negotiation process for local purchase process and develop local vendors / suppliers to optimize cost.
• Recommends and establishes organizational committees related to the effective functioning of the organization objectives; seeks opportunities to promote the vision and values of the organization.
• Oversee Cost Reduction through Standardization, Variety Reduction, and Value Engineering/Analysis.
• Prepare and submit Management Information Reports.
• Implementing new protocols & SOPs as and when needed and as and when designed by Corporate SCM team.
• Maintaining a lean stock with no stock outs, managing the near expiry, non-moving and supplier returns
• Maintaining Stock level according to unit guidelines, Regularly review stock quantities and reorder level and Planning for Purchase as per Formulary in Unit SOP in both Outpatient and Inpatients in unit level.
• Work closely with pharmacy Manager and other relevant departments to enhance patient care for continued Improvement of Business in OP pharmacy.
• Closely work Head of hospitals to understand new requirements of end users like consultants and plan to implement same in time bound manner.
• Oversee Proper Storage and Preservation of Materials.
• Manage returns and recalls of medical supplies and equipment. Efficiently handle product returns, ensuring timely processing and accurate documentation.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of supply chain activities.
• Oversee Materials Handling and Transportation.
• Conduct Stock audits as per SOP in unit level of supply chain processes and procedures.
• Monitor and resolve issues related to supply chain disruptions or inconsistencies in Internal Department.
• Adhere to KRAs / KPIs of corporate SCM team and report on monthly basis.
• Take initiative on “cost control projects” as well as work on “Continuous improvement process” to bring efficiency in operation.
• Coordinate with external and internal audit team and ensure closure of audit points in time bound maner.
• Responsible for unit purchase negotiation processes, done at unit level. Provide training to staff on inventory management procedures for best practices.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficient practices.
• Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
• Communicating performance insights and discussed problems during P&T Committee meetings. Additionally, handled Supply Chain management issues and addressed other departmental inventory-related matters.
• Establishes and maintains purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with vendors. Keeps informed on legal matters that affect purchasing policies.
• Good communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, multitask and lead a team. Ability to train and educate associates on department specific aspects when required.

Candidate Requirements:
Education: Graduate/Postgraduate/Pharmacy Degree
Experience: Preferably 10.5 years.
Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of in Supply chain management & meet and train end users (Training & re-training, prompt responses and feedback) Good communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, multi task and lead a team. Ability to train and educate associates on department specific aspects when required. Be proactive, punctual and empathetic.
